Nowadays, nobody can ignore the power of social networks: Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, MySpace, hi5, Viadeo, etc. Since we are keeping on innovation thanks to our qualified and creative team, we are now able to introduce to our newsletter readers the iNet Social Networks application. The official release will occur in September 2010.

What it is
|

This application will connect your center with social networks. We are currently compatible with the biggest one worldwide with 400 million users worldwide: Facebook (Source: Facebook).
Your customers can subscribe by following the banner with link that we include in the automatic race results email. It leads them to the application, directly integrated in Facebook, like they’re used to do for other applications.
The application does not replace your Facebook group. It connects with it in your own style. If you don’t have a group, you can use the application without. In this case, all links will be redirected to your website. We can also create a group for you.

What it does
|
|
When a race starts, a “post” (or message) will be automatically displayed on all the subscribed people’s friends. When the race ends, another “post” will be displayed as well, including the best time and position of the person.
Your customers can also challenge friends to your center by selecting them in their Facebook account. They can add a personal message. A link to your website will be automatically provided.
In the application, the drivers can check out their lap times compared with their friends’ ones. For each person, there are the 10 best lap times ever and the 10 last driven. All can be compared thanks to charts and graphs.
General information about your business can be found in the application as well as a news feed automatically coming from your Facebook group.

3 steps to set up a profitable member card strategy
|

The member card is an essential tool of your business, whether it’s karting only or a multi-activity center. In fact, the member card reinforces your branding, develops the customer loyalty and represents a great source of revenue.

Step 1: name the card correctly
|
| Don’t underestimate this: a lot of your customers do not want to become a “member” of your business, since it involves a certain commitment. But you still want to have their details such as name, email address, birthday and picture. As a consequence, the trick is to change the name of the card. The reason is very simple: in your customers’ minds, their relationship with your business switches to the opposite way. Naming the card “Race license”, “Track access” or “Card pass” allows them to drive or to enter your business. They will not be afraid to become a member anymore and you can now make the card purchase obligatory for every customer: no Track access card, no race.

Step 2: define the commercial approach
|
|
We highly recommend to sell the card individually. Our worldwide experience has shown us that a membership price of few dozen of Euros does not work. But selling the card itself for few Euros is a success. Simply check out the amount of customers you have per month and you will figure out that it will bring a lot!
Then you should wonder about the card validity. Life-time or one year for instance? In the first case, it will give more comfort to your customers whereas the second option will bring you money. Each year, your customers have to renew their card by paying few euros. If you decide not to take back the old card and give a new one, this is a 100% margin on each customer!
Credits or money loaded on the card, even online, is possible. You can encourage people to load money by setting up discounts. This way, you raise your cash flow. Your customers become your bank!

Step 3: create the right design
|
|
The look of your card is very important since it will be an “off-site” link from your center to your customers. The card has to be appealing so that they are proud of keeping it in their wallet.
We strongly advise you to stick to your house style, meaning that the look and feel has to be in the same tone as your website, flyers and
e-mailings.
On the front, a picture in high-quality is recommended together with your logo and card name. The website, phone number and address should also be there or at the back if necessary. Integrating sponsors logo is a great source of revenue.
In step 1, we mentioned that a lot of customers are not willing to become members. But a small part still wants to. You can offer them a VIP card and use silver or gold cards. This kind of customer will be really satisfied to have such a card.
Last but not least, don’t forget to renew your card’s design. Keep it up-to-date to avoid an old style of a few years ago.
