8 key points to form a winning team
|
If you think about it, a successful business relies on three things: a good product/service, reliable suppliers and a trustworthy team.
This month, the topic won’t be karting-related, nor software or service-related. We’ll see what should be done to build a winning team. It’s all about performance and management.

The 8 key factors of a winning team
1. Ambition
“There’s no favorable wind for ships that have no cape.”
This is pretty clear: with no goals, you won’t get far. Take time to define your objectives, write them down and plan how to reach them with the necessary tools. Going step by step is most of the time the best option.
2. Selection
“There is no wealth but men.”
People are at the origin and at the end of everything. Choose your staff members wisely.
3. Interest
“More than being inspired, you have to be inspiring.”
You always have to motivate your team members. If you are enthusiastic about your business and share the enthusiasm, people won’t have difficulties to follow your path.

4. Enjoyment
“Jobs have always appeared easy when the job is fun.”
The work environment is very important for both you and your employees. Environment ranges from tools, the mood of the team, to the way of working, etc.
5. Moralization
“Clear, accurate rules and the authority to make them respected”.
What are the rules of the game? You don’t have any? Then you are in trouble. Your employees will go in all possible directions and it will be difficult bring them back to a common line.
6. Measurement
“All what’s not measurable or measured does not progress.”
Your team doesn’t do as good as expected? Ask yourself why. Your team does better than expected? The same. Check -> Analyze -> Optimize and repeat.

7. Training
“Those who stop aspiring to be the best already stop being good”
Keep people up-to-date with the tools and methods they use. Keep on teaching them what you know.
8. Valorization
“Expose to people the best of themselves.”
Keep highlighting to your staff members what they do good. You will make them feel more confident in themselves.
I’m sure you can already rate yourself: give yourself a grade from 1 to 10 for each key factor. If you are honest with yourself, you will clearly see the topics you’ll need to improve on.
I wish you all the best for the assembly of your winning team!
